The Care Bags Foundation - Dec 22, 2011

Annie Wignall, founded Care Bags Foundation at the young age of eleven, when she learned about many kids who were in crisis situations, forcing them to leave their homes with very little of their own belongings.  Being an extraordinary young girl, Annie wanted to help better the lives of kids, simply out of love.  Annie’s foundation started as a small home- based project that helped kids in Iowa, developing into a recognized nonprofit organization nationwide, providing services to children worldwide.

Care Bags Foundation, with Annie currently as the President and Director, wants to help as many kids in need, for as long as possible, all while encouraging others to do the same.  Care Bags are created, distributed and filled with new essential and comforting items for displaced, abused and disadvantaged children between the ages of baby- 18 years.  Each month Annie and her volunteers fill over 100 beautiful fabric Care Bags at their Iowa headquarters and distribute them to kids in need through child- service agencies and individuals across the United States and internationally around the globe.  In the past twelve years, Care Bags have brought smiles, hope and tangible gifts of love to over 20,000 kids worldwide.

Anyone can donate their time to help children in need, whether it is donating items or money, sewing bags, bibs and children blankets, or finding a way of your own to make a difference in a child’s life all while encouraging others to do the same.  Even the smallest of help can make a big difference starting with “one Care Bag, one child at a time.”
